Mettis Aerospace forging ahead
Posted: 5 July 2019
One Creative Environments are delighted that a scheme that they submitted for Mettis Aerospace, Worcestershire got unanimous approval at planning committee in Redditch last week.
Director, Mark Martin said “It was great to get this exciting project over the line so quickly and thank you to all involved. It needed a real team effort to meet the challenging timescales required.”
The manufacturing giant has said the new development comes after it won a number of multimillion-pound contracts recently.
The factory, in Windsor Road, Redditch, will enable the expansion of its machining business and will mean parts which were sent to the USA for completion can now be machined in the UK.
In a statement, the business said: “We will be investing in six, new state-of-the-art machines which will be fully automated so they can process components 24/7.
“The advanced levels of automation will enable us to further reduce lead times for customers.
“Components produced in our onsite forges will be machined in the factory. We’re proud to have such a large, integrated facility that can do so much in one location. It reduces processing and transporting time for customers.
“The new factory will be the first new facility of this scale we’ve built in many years and demonstrates our commitment to manufacturing in the UK, creating jobs and investing in an exciting future.”
