Project Overview

The project converts a disused viaduct, which runs below, but parallel to the existing viaduct, along with a new bridge, into a high pedestrian walk and cycleway with the potential to link Foregate Street Station on the east, with University of Worcester City Centre campus, the racecourse, the river front and across the river on the west to the arena, the cricket ground, St.Johns and beyond.

The project will be split into five phases with the first phase converting the disused viaduct and introducing external lifts for inclusive access. Subsequent phases will include links to Foregate Street station and a new pedestrian bridge.

Green Skywalk is identified in the Worcestershire Strategic Economic Plan as an illustrative pipeline project for sustainable development.
