Finalist and Sponsor of the Tall Buildings Awards
Posted: 8 December 2020
ONE is proud to be a shortlisted finalist for the Technology Innovation award at this years Tall Buildings Awards 2020.
The awards, which this year will be a virtual event on 18 November 2020, celebrate the best in design and engineering feats that are creating a legacy of iconic super-structures that are transforming the built environment. The event also seeks to celebrate design and building technology innovation in the UK high-rise sector.
ONE goes beyond the role of a traditional design consultancy, is committed to digital R&D projects and maximises the benefits of BIM to de-risk projects for their clients who are responsible for some of the U.K.’s most prestigious tall buildings. The team is, therefore, delighted to be a finalist in the Technology Innovation category as well as sponsor the Best Tall Building Retrofit or Refurbished Project category.
Jason Whittall, Director at ONE, said: “It is fantastic to be a finalist and to have our work recognised in these prestigious awards. ONE’s multi-award-winning “virtual mockup” concept is a perfect solution for projects where there is repeatability and/or high risk – typically found on tall buildings.”
“Traditionally, project teams build physical mockups of critical areas in order to test buildability, compliance, finish, specification and construction sequencing – the virtual mockup performs these checks digitally at a fraction of the cost and time, whilst also bringing additional benefits. The virtual mockup goes well beyond 3D modelling and clash detection, it adds huge benefits on any project where complex areas of the build need resolution, understanding, and de-risking”.
“It is also great to be a sponsor this year. Good luck to all finalists and we look forward to the virtual ceremony next week.”
ONE’s BIM team has won other industry awards including: “BIM Designer of the Year” at BIM Show Live 2019, “Project Innovation of the Year” at Digital Construction Week 2018 as well as being currently shortlisted for a number of others yet to be announced.
