Affordable housing development given the green light

ONE’s design for Sanctuary Housing’s new development in Worcester, on the site of the former Sansome Walk swimming pool, has been approved.
On 24 March 2022, the committee agreed the plans for the new development which includes 40 affordable properties comprising of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes and one-bedroom apartments.
The masterplan design, which will transform the brownfield site, includes two apartment blocks housing 28 apartments and 12 homes. The main apartment building fronting onto Sansome Walk has been developed to reflect the alignment of the original Turkish Baths, with the architectural style influenced by the local arboretum vernacular.
The site layout, open space and landscape has been designed to create a safe and attractive environment with retained ecological features providing opportunities for residents to walk, play and socialise creating a sense of community.
The decision earlier this month is great news so that plans can now be made to start on site.
