We believe that great design and creativity can positively influence and inspire the next generation. This is why we are so passionate about sustainable education design in all settings, from early years and nursery settings, primary schools and high schools right through to Sixth Form Colleges, further education, universities and specialist training centres.

We understand that the needs of your children, young people, students and staff are your top priority. Our clients benefit from a single point of contact for an entire design team without the need for multiple appointment documents. This means our clients are free to focus on their day job while we work closely with you to deliver your vision with a clear line of communication. Helping you to maximise both indoor and outdoor educational spaces

We have all the essential disciplines for a design project inhouse, be it a new-build or a refurbishment project, our inhouse disciplines include: masterplanning, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, mechanical and electrical engineering (building services) and civil and structural engineering. All our disciplines work together at the forefront of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and as a practice we are certified to BIM Level 2.

We believe that a natural environment can add significantly to the quality of the user experience, with COVID-19 in particular highlighting the importance of well-designed facilities offering fresh air and the benefits of flexible indoor and outdoor spaces. We have an inhouse team of skilled landscape architects, who work closely with the rest of the design team, and as a result ONE has worked with many clients to enhance their school offering through the development of outside spaces, sports facilities and Forest Schools.

An experienced multi-disciplinary team

With ONE you have a team of experienced specialists who collaborate daily that understands the specific needs and the technical and operational requirements that relate to the design of educational facilities, for example, we fully understand the importance of getting separation, circulation and flow correct in the early design phases.

We have vast experience in new build school architecture projects as well as refurbishments for all types of educational settings. We are sensitive to those which have historical buildings or other environmental considerations and you can count on us to understand how the space available at your facility can be practically used to design the best possible educational solution.

Our designs will also appropriately consider special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) as we work to create solutions that will inspire and support teaching staff to deliver the best possible educational outcomes for all children, young people and students.

As a company we support the drive for apprenticeships and have worked with some fantastic clients on their training centres, with recent examples including Toyota, EEF (now MakeUK) and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Association (HWGTA).  You can view some example projects here.
