Mark is running the London Marathon

Mark Martin, Director of ONE, will be running the London Marathon in aid of Leonard Cheshire Disability.
Leonard Cheshire was an amazing man, who was a brilliant World War II pilot, but also went on to become a fantastic ambassador for good and helping those who needed it. In the Queen’s message after his death she stated: “Perhaps this shining example of what a human being can achieve in a lifetime of dedication can inspire the rest of us a belief of our own capacity to help others.”
Leonard Cheshire now employs 6000 staff and 6500 volunteers, supporting more than 30,000 individuals in the UK and within 15 countries in Africa and Asia. They support individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability and ONE worked on the Park House Hotel in Sandringham project with the charity.
Mark Martin, Director of ONE, said: “The Queen has been a patron since 1980 and in her Platinum Jubilee year, I can’t think of a better charity to support and give my time, blood, sweat and tears for. Having worked on a project for Leonard Cheshire, I have seen first-hand the fantastic work that they do.”
“This is a big personal challenge (and I have already had my first running injury!) but I hope with great support and sponsorship I will get through the pain and raise some much-needed financial support for a wonderful charity.”
