Worcester based multi-disciplinary design firm submit planning application for ESP at Blackmore Park, Malvern

Posted: 18 May 2015

On behalf of Essential Supply Products Ltd (ESP), Worcester based multi-disciplinary design company, One Creative Environments Ltd. (One), have recently submitted a planning application for a new production and warehouse facility in Hanley Swan, Malvern.

ESP, which is celebrating its 25th year of business this year, is one of the leading independent manufacturers of disposable tissue products in the UK. The company is currently based on the Enigma Business Park in Malvern Link, but says it has now outgrown the site and wants to move to Blackmore Park, near the Three Counties Showground.

The investment in the new facility will support the future development and expansion of the company.

Isla Buchanan the company’s projects manager, says: “The acquisition of Blackmore Park provides us with a fantastic opportunity to develop a first-class facility for the future development of the company, completely in keeping with our desire to continue as a Malvern and Worcestershire-based commercial success.

Continual investment in our people and our manufacturing capability has allowed to us successfully expand our customer base and develop a national presence.

Our operation is currently split between two units at Enigma Business Park and two at Throckmorton Airfield, near Pershore. The new site will consolidate all of these into a single location to improve our operational efficiency whilst allowing much-needed room for expansion. This expansion will safeguard existing jobs and, in turn, create new job opportunities, and will continue to do so as the company grows.”

The new site covers 7.45 hectares and is already allocated for employment use. It was originally developed as a Second World War military hospital, and after the war, became the Blackmore Park Industrial Estate.

Matt Tebbatt, Managing Director of One says: “We are thrilled to be working with ESP to help them deliver their flagship development. We have worked hard with ESP to design a building which is sensitive to the site, the surrounding Malvern Hills and to the local residents.”

Isla added: “Our decision to appoint One as our partners in this project recognised their understanding of our brief and the creation of a sympathetic design concept which will hopefully add value to the local area.”

The planning application is scheduled to be determined in early July.
